Game Booster sessions
Pick your game, start a reversible Gaming Session, and check the readiness list.
Game Booster lives under Gaming › Game Booster. It has three parts: your game, a Gaming Session, and a readiness checklist.
Your game
Pick a running game from the list or select Add game… to add its .exe. Nexus detects games from:
- games you added yourself,
- Windows' own Game Bar game list,
- known game-launcher library folders,
- and, as a last resort, sustained 3D use of the GPU.
The reason a process was detected is always shown. Per-game settings, such as the graphics processor and fullscreen optimizations, apply only to that .exe.
Start a Gaming Session
A session temporarily focuses the PC on your game. Choose what it should do:
- Raise the game's priority to Above normal. Never High or Realtime, which can starve Windows itself.
- Switch power plan during the session to an existing plan you choose.
- Efficiency mode for background apps: select apps in the list to run them with lower priority and power while you play. Protected and system processes are refused.
Then select Start session.
Readiness checklist
Live checks of things that measurably affect games: Game Mode, background recording, power plan, each display's refresh rate, graphics driver age, free memory and whether you're on a wired connection. Each item shows what was found, for example 60 Hz, but 75 Hz is available.
Compact view
Compact view shrinks Nexus to a small always-on-top window with live CPU, GPU, RAM and ping and the session button, so you can keep an eye on things while you play in windowed or borderless mode.
