Using Nexus

Restore Center and undo

Undo one change, a group or the last change, and manage Windows System Restore points.

Restore Center is the record of everything Nexus changed. Open it from Restore in the top bar.

Undo changes

  • Undo last change: the button at the top right.
  • Restore a group: changes applied together, such as a pack, can be restored together.
  • Restore one change: use the restore button next to it.
  • Or simply switch the tweak off on its page.

Undoing writes back the original value recorded before the change, not a generic Windows default, and then reads it back to confirm. If Nexus created a registry key that didn't exist before, undoing removes it again.

Windows System Restore points

The System Restore points card lists your restore points. You can:

  • Create restore point: Nexus creates one and checks that it really exists.
  • Open System Restore to roll Windows back.
  • Open System Protection settings, for example if restore points are turned off.

A restore point is an independent safety net: it also covers drivers and system files that Nexus never touches.

One-way actions

Uninstalling OneDrive, removing Store apps, deleting temp files and running repairs can't be undone by their nature. They're labelled and ask you to confirm first. Removed Store apps keep a Microsoft Store link so you can reinstall them.

Reports and diagnostics

  • Export change history: a file listing every change.
  • Export diagnostic log: useful when you contact support.
  • Open data folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\NexusOptimizer.

Reset Nexus settings restores Nexus' own preferences. It doesn't undo system changes, and it keeps your change history.
